The Slow Edit

I love to capture a mood — a mood, a season, a direction.. it all leads back to this post and why I love to curate mood boards. It's pretty cool what they can tell you.

It's funny, while I love a light and bright space, I equally love a moody one. I think the combination of both is completely my happy space now. Here's a take on a feel of early fall, the energy and light are shifting, time feels like it's slowing down a little, and we're thinking about the cozy season ahead.

A few notes on what I'm seeing in this collection —

A little unfinished or imperfect is actually perfect.

The light is shifting and spaces start to feel warmer.

Lamps. Period. They should be everywhere, soft ambient lighting is everything.

Classics never go out of style, and simple classics look elevated and pulled together.

Your spaces should draw you in. Create comfort.

The juxtaposition of unique pieces and clean lines is perfect.

I love a piece that sparks conversation. The piece that is probably not for everybody, but makes you smile every time you walk in the room. Interesting, personality.

Simple is effective and quiet. I love that in a space. If my eye can't stop looking around and settle, there's too much going on.
