The Gift Edit | For Her

A little collection of things for her— Thoughtfully gathered, some lovely everyday finds, a few elevated classics, and pieces that are just as nice to give as they are to keep.

My first gift edit is here, with plenty of things worth a closer look. I love the idea of presenting a gift as a mood, you're curating the feeling you want the recipient to feel when they open it. Imagine you're buying for a busy Mom of young children. It's Christmas morning and after all of her work creating the best holiday for her family she sits down and opens a box imperfectly wrapped in the most perfect way by her kids and inside is the loveliest soft and cozy cashmere sweater with a set of socks. To me this relays that the gift giver wants to give her the time to curl up and relax in the softest sweater imaginable ( it's this one ) with a pair of joggers and lovely socks. Put the fire on, watch a movie. The pieces themselves are familiar but it's about creating a moment. It's about her and the feel she is going to get from putting it on. Thoughtful, intentional and not just another sweater.

We often approach gifting with the idea that we need to find something entirely new or something the recipient doesn't already own. But perhaps the loveliest gifts aren't always about discovering something different. They're about considering what something might offer: a little comfort, a moment of pause, an everyday pleasure or an experience worth looking forward to.

Suede Loafers that pair perfectly with everything, elevating an outfit, giving the look of effortlessly put together. Pair them with a set of lovely socks that can be seen with the loafer, or a perfect little no show sock.

While there are definitely splurge items like the Gucci Crossbody, you don't have to spend a fortune to give an elevated gift. It's just about being thoughtful in what you're looking for— and the quality of the item. Kōv Essentials hair accessories are beautifully luxe, well made and affordable. Merit beauty is so lovely, from the packaging to the product itself, so perfect to gift and to open. While perfume can be costly, there are alternatives to giving scent— I recently purchased Sidia Hydrating Wash and my first use transported me to vacation. It's Four Seasons mixed with a beach view with a subtle soft warm scent. I added the Body Mist to keep the soft scent lingering longer than just the shower. At $48 and $65, they come in at great gifting price points, and can make a lovely set to open.

There are pieces that will last and be worn for years that each time they are pulled out the receiver will think of the thoughtfulness— a cashmere headband or beanie is elevated and not something someone will often buy for themselves. A cashmere blanket scarf will travel everywhere, from soccer fields to the rink, wrapped in it for morning drop off, it's the perfect piece to pack on the plane to have as a lap blanket. The Alfred Large Card Holder is a favorite piece, I love to use this when attending events with bag policies, it holds what you need, sits flat in your hand with your phone, and you can easily skip all the lines.

A note on the perfect jogger— we were in the Aritzia dressing room while my daughter was trying on a few things. A lady came out in a sweatsuit and immediately I thought I need those joggers. I told her how great they looked and her response was - but no pockets! This would normally be a huge no for me too, BUT this jogger has the nicest leg that ends just above the ankle with not too tight elastic at the bottom. Because there are no pockets there are no seams and the actual perfect soft rounded leg. They're a little thinner that the normal Aritzia fleece and I haven't taken them off in 2 weeks. The listing online doesn't show their potential, and I'm pretty sure there is also a bad review. I love the simplicity, the softness, the wearability and comfort.

Merit— depending on where you like to shop there are a couple of things that are perfect to know for gifting. If it is your first purchase through the Merit Beauty site, you'll receive The Signature Bag, free with every first order. It's a lovely addition and one I use when travelling. The other consideration is Sephora— and just as of today the Sephora Savings Event has started with great discounts depending on your Insider | VIB | Rouge Access. It's a sale not to be missed whether gifting or stocking up on daily favorites. The sale runs through November 9th.

This is just the beginning. I'll be sharing more gift edits in the weeks ahead, each with its own collection of thoughtful finds, little luxuries and pieces worth passing along. Until then, happy gifting — and perhaps a little something for yourself, too.
