Do you also get the feeling that once we settle into this first week of January it's time to slow down and settle into winter? Simplify the day to day, take time to rest and set routines and intentions for the New Year? A shift to focus on well being and make caring for yourself top of list. We often push ourselves with a sense of urgency to do all and be all this time of year and finding a balance of purpose and actually enjoying this new year is just the thing.

This weeks visual notes include pointelle - the perfect mix of feminine and classic and just so pretty. Layered under a cardigan, paired with a great lounge pant, cozy socks and the fire on. Also takes me back to perfect 90's style paired with a great denim. LESET has a lovely collection of pointelle pieces that are perfect as separates or a set, and don't miss this cute little tank and short set from H&M.
As we settle back into post holiday decor, I love the idea of a lovely glass bowl holding a favorite collection or on the kitchen counter with a bright pop of lemons.
I fell for these suede Ralph Lauren loafers as soon as I saw them, what a fun closet addition for the season to freshen up the perfect denim and sweater combo.
The days are starting to get longer with Winter Solstice occuring on December 21st but we are still in cozy up and hibernate season, especially how I feel in January. Soft ambient lighting around the house creates such a sense of cozy and belonging. I find we also miss the glow of the Christmas tree ~ This new release from C&B comes in two color options and two size options. Love the charm!
Talking about self care and taking the time for ourselves, a favorite of mine that I started using mid December is the ZIIP halo. Micro currents give instant lift and glow and I couldn't love this little tool more. Smoother, firmer and lifted skin with each use. I'm generally not one to talk beauty, I'm very simple in my day to day but I was kindly gifted the ZIIP and once I started using it, there's results. I was surprised and impressed to see, and it's now something I use daily. It's so easy once you get the feel of it, you can follow set facials on the app, but I just use it as I like. I pair it with the electric complex gel but it's definitely up to you to choose the gel you'd like. Use code SARAHSZIIP for 10% off.
Have you tried air dry clay? It's on my want to try this month. I was inspired by the ceramic bow I have in the visual, I love the idea of a little bow to have hanging up somewhere, or maybe once you start it becomes something completely different - anyway it's on my monthly try list and it seems like it's quite accessible on Amazon to pick up a package of the clay.
I want to try new things this year - I love to cook, but I'm not a baker.. the first bake on my list this New Year is this Canelle et Vanille Gluten Free Chocolate Cake. As with cooking, I tend to alter recipes a hint and with this one I think for the citrus I may stick to just orange instead of lemon and orange. It feels nostalgic like a chocolate orange!

I'm looking forward to this new little weekly check in, I think it will keep me accountable for trying new things and getting out of my comfort zone a bit while keeping the reminder that rest is important and down time is essential. Wishing you a wonderful New Year filled with all the things that fulfill you, x
