I’m actually not even sure how to start this post.. Tofino is everything I expected and nothing I expected. When you arrive and look out on the ocean you feel like you are actually at the end of the world. It’s like no place I have ever been or seen before. The rocks are rugged, the ocean breath taking. You watch the surfers waiting for the perfect wave from the minute you open your eyes until the sun goes down. You wake in the morning to the sound of the waves crashing in and lazily take your coffee out onto your patio and realize this is absolute bliss. There is no where else you would rather be at that exact moment. There is no rush, no need for make up, no one cares what you’re wearing, no need to take off anywhere. You go for a morning stroll on the beach and feel like you own the world. I promise you, I didn’t expect any of this.. but relished every moment of it.
We stayed at Pacific Sands Beach Resort and I would go back again in a second. It’s the kind of holiday that is perfect as a couple, with your family, or would be perfect to go with friends and fill up the space with two families, or be neighbors in the resort. It’s amazing and perfect. We stayed in a two bedroom beach house and it was crazy good. You have full amenities, a kitchen, laundry, separate bedroom for the kids, two balconies.. and your bedroom will leave you breathless.. oh, and the ocean is just outside your window and steps outside your door..
Let me show you around the resort.. the beach houses, the ocean just outside your door, the surf shack + of course the views..
The sunsets are like nothing I’ve ever seen, and the beach days fabulous. We were lucky and had days of warm temps and sunshine while we were there.. but even if there was rain we had yellow rain slickers provided in our house! The girls tried boogie boarding, we collected sand dollars at sunset, and walked the beach countless times a day..
We went to town and wandered the great little shops ( Caravan Beach Shop you’re darling! ), had tacos at TacoFino ( a MUST! they have gfree too! ) , visited Tofino Brewing Company and went out to Ecluelet and hiked the Wild Pacific Trail and heard whales out in the water while we were walking, amazing!
When we mentioned in Vancouver we were heading out to Tofino we heard ‘oh, the drive is part of the experience!’ and oh it is! A gorgeous ferry ride and 3 hours of winding through narrow roads with the mountains right beside you is something else!
The first thing my girls said as we were driving away was Mom, we’re coming back here right? You bet babe, you bet. X
