I just had the pleasure of working on a living room e design for a family in Houston, Texas. They are in the midst of building the most spectacular custom home and K was wanting my help to make their formal living room a little less formal. Wanting a room that is inviting and cozy, welcoming for guests and family and a place where the family can cuddle up together and hang out with their girls.
Here is the gorgeous living room in their current home, we are keeping the coffee table, set of chairs, piano, mirror and antique chest.. beautiful pieces to build a room around!
K was wanting to inject some modern elements into the room, while keeping with her love of neutrals and traditional pieces in the space.
In the first design board I sent over I added a sofa from Serena + Lily along with a set of Hickory spool chairs. A gorgeous rug that has a modern pattern up close paired with small accent tables to filter around the room when entertaining and a card table that K was hoping to add to the room..
The card table, while the style is ideal was a little to large so K is going to shop for something similar locally and she was wanting a bit more color. Being drawn to seablues, lavendar and pinks we looked at adding more color-
Now here’s the second board I sent over with stunning art, colorful pillows, a more traditional chair for the card table and the black modern lighting K was after! So imagine these elements fitting into the scheme above.. paired with creamy white paint, spectacular windows all around draped in heavy linen to match the walls, and a fireplace similar to what you see above. Spectacular right?! X
