It’s turned into a tradition.. every year for my besties birthday we plan a little weekend getaway.. we’ve been to LA to go to the outdoor hockey game and had an amazing weekend in Hermosa Beach while we were there, last year we went to see Adam Levine and this year we were off to Banff. We are so lucky that we are only 1.5 hours away from this perfect mountain town so when you have one night to get away it’s the perfect destination! We had a packed agenda as we always take advantage of every second we are away… first up, lunch at Tooloulous. We were let in on this little gem of a place by our friends Matt and Jen. Jen is gluten free like me and they have a HUGE g free menu.. the food is amazing ( thanks for the tip Engies!! ) ! So are the caesars if you’re inclined ;) Next up we wanted to check out Park Distillery.. really cool environment that was worth checking out. We had just eaten so we just popped back to the bar for a drink. I’ve read honestly not great reviews about their food being over priced and the service so so.. but we didn’t experience any of that and it was good for some photo’s! Ha ha! After Park we headed up to the Banff Springs... checked in and headed to the heated outdoor pool with the most incredible mountain views…
Ashlyn had the best outfit for heading down to the pool.. boots with shorts..forgot the flip flops at home. It was too funny.. and you should have seen some of the looks she got ha ha ha! Love her! After the pool, a little snoop around the hotel checking out the haunted spots. It’s a must!
A quick change and we popped down to the Rundle Lounge in the hotel for a drink before dinner.. best environment! But first.. mirror group selfies before we go out..
For dinner we went to The Grizzly House. What an experience.. if you have the chance go! It has quite the ahem interesting history. But be warned after sitting for 3 hours cooking fondu in oil.. others will not be shy to ask if you just came from the Grizzly House because they can smell it on you! Ahh!!
Sunday morning we were off to Lake Louise to skate and have lunch at the Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise.. the ice sculptures were up, the sun was shining.. it was an awesome day! ( and weekend!! X )
